Learning styles



Active
Learning by doing. Active learners are of practical nature, they need to learn thing by doing them on their own. They enjoy working in groups and learn to figure out problems by attempting them
  


Reflective
Learn through reflection. A reflective likes to sit back and think before doing something.  They think things through and consider various outcomes and learn by analyzing the situation or problem. 

Sensory
Using a method or a framework to address tasks and solve problems. very prescriptive, sometimes a repetitive learner.  Look first for the facts and prefer concrete, practical and procedural information




Intuitive

Use of more innovative methods.  Dislike repetition and more into spontaneity.  Like to discover new ways of doing things.  They look for meaning and prefer conceptual, innovative and theoretical information.




Visual

A visual learner works more effectively in a visual environment.  By looking at maps, drawings, pictures or spider diagrams
 


Verbal
Verbal learners are more effective with written tasks, instructions and guidelines.  They like to hear or read information and understand best explanations that use words.


  


Sequential

These learners progress by taking small steps.  They need information in a linear and orderly manner.  They piece together the details to understand the bigger picture.

 



Global
Global learners like to tackle tasks and problems as a whole.  They like to take information in large chunks rather than details and then fill in the details systematically.  This is called a holistic approach to learning.
